Normal Life

It's easy to post about the bigger things going on in our life, that sometimes I forget about the cute/special things that go on in our every day life.  So here's a few I thought I'd share.

Although Gavin's potty trained, he still needs a little help cleaning up after going #2.  We'll hear Gavin calling from the bathroom, "Can someone wipe my buuummmm!!??"  And although not my favorite job, I still loved his compliment the other day when he told me, "Mom, you're the best bum wiper ever."  I'll take it!  I've also been told I'm the best and getting sticky things out, while making Rice Crispy Treats.

With being pregnant during the summer, Gavin and I have spent more time inside than I'd like, but we've also taken advantage of our Pass of all Passes and gone swimming at Seven Peaks quite a few times.  Although I still can't convince him to go down any of the slides, Gavin now loves going out deep in the wave pool and floating on the tube in the lazy river.  The splash pad a few blocks away is also a nice retreat from the heat, as well as trips to Utah Lake as a family.  Gavin is getting alot better at riding his bike.  He first really learned how to ride on his own just before Easter, but could only ride in a big empty parking lot.  Now he's getting more comfortable with riding on the sidewalks.

Right now Gavin is doing Tumbling Tots again, and absolutely loves it.  I love watching how particular he gets about doing just what his instructors tell him, and making sure all the other kids are doing it right as well.  Tumbling Tots will end just five days before my due date, then on my due date he'll start his first day of preschool, and he'll also be starting soccer right before my due date as well.  I considered not doing the soccer, but Gavin loved playing last summer, and keeps asking when he gets to play again.  Something I am a little nervous about is getting Gavin to preschool by 9am this fall.  We're usually slow movers in the morning, and Gavin has figured out he can often get away with watching Netflix in the morning if he gets up before I'm out of bed.  And I usually give in, wanting the extra sleep while he watches Jake and the Neverland Pirates.  I know it will all change once baby comes, but I find if I'm able to get out of bed even just a few minutes before Gavin, our mornings go much smoother.  But especially lately, more sleep for me often trumps getting up and going.

With it being summer time and the sun being out so much longer, Gavin stays up later than he used to.  But it's been nice having the bright evening hours to go do stuff as a family after Jared gets home from work.  Driving Daddy's boat at the duck pond and checking out the dam they built is always a favorite, and recently Jared got a new RC toy.  His quadcopter arrived just in time to take on our trip to Starvation Reservoir, and it's a pretty cool little thing.  I also got my own new 'toy' recently, and am loving my new vacuum!
