Our Story

Back in February of 2006 Jared and I were two single undergraduates at Brigham Young University, both unaware of the other's existence.  When Valentine's Day rolled around we both ended up at the same party for singles who had no one special to celebrate the holiday with.  What was supposed to be a chill movie night with popcorn, foosball, and friends ended up changing our lives forever.

After dating on and off for close to two years, Jared proposed to me on   December 1st, 2007!  And here's each of our stories of the evening:

On May 9th, 2008,  Jared and I were sealed in the Las Vegas, Nevada Temple.  We started off our marriage living in Vegas for two months while Jared finished his intern at Halcow Yolles, a structural engineering firm.  I then moved up to Salt Lake City to start my internship, and we were apart for about three weeks (although Jared did drive up every weekend to see me).  Jared joined me in Salt Lake where we lived for another couple of months before moving back down to Provo.

In December 2008 I finished my internship and Jared and I officially became BYU graduates!  In January Jared started his graduate degree in structural engineering, while I spent my time studying for the ASCP MT exam, and waiting for my green card and work visa to be be approved.  In March I started working for Intermountain Healthcare at the Intermountain Medical Center and supported Jared as he worked on his Master's.

On September 21st, 2009, we found out we were pregnant and our first child, Gavin Daniel Edgel, was born on June 2nd, 2010 at 4:20pm.  Soon after having a child we quickly learning what it means to be completely selfless (having a newborn dictating your schedule will do that)!  We love having a third member in our family and love watching Gavin grow and discover everything around him.


After completing his Master's in December of 2010, Jared began working full time on his first business start-up, TranquilMed, and I am continuing to work for IHC, at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.
