Winter Wonderland

I cannot get over the beauty of living up here in Wasatch County. I often find myself pulling over to snap a quick photo and capture the beauty of Heber Valley. Here are two pictures of our new town of Midway; one back in November and again blanketed in snow on New Years Eve Day.

We headed down to Vegas for Christmas on a beautiful crisp day. It seriously looked like a painting driving by Deer Creek Reservoir with the mountains reflected in the water.

When the snow first arrived the beginning of November Gavin could NOT wait to get out and play in it. He didn't have any snow pants or boots that fit...but that didn't stop Gavin from starting a snowball fight! Liam is also a huge fan of the snow, and if Gavin is outside playing he will cry at the door until he is bundled up and let out to play with brother.

We have since gotten Gavin new snow pants and boots

I love the trees when they are covered in frost and snow

And with all this snow we have built a quinzee (snow shelter) in our back yard. One of these nights we will attempt to sleep in it!

Merry Christmas

As always we had a fun time down in Vegas celebrating Christmas with family. We were also able to hang out with some A-tech friends that we haven't seen in a while. Gavin and Liam had fun with cousins, Aunts, Uncles, and Grandparents!

Pre Christmas Fun

Some day we'll enjoy our Christmas decorations for the whole season, but for now we still have fun setting them all up even though we've never actually been in our own home for Christmas. This year we headed down to Vegas to spend Christmas with the Edgels.

After a few days Liam picked up on looking for Bobo each morning. Bobo is Santa's elf that visits us each year in December. Each night when we are all in bed Bobo returns to the North Pole and reports to Santa. He shares what we did that day, how well we listened, how nice we were, etc. Although we can't touch him (it takes away his special magic), Bobo is always listening and will pass on our Christmas request to the Big Man!

This year Seven Peaks turned the water park into a North Pole Adventure. We went sledding down water slides, tubing along the lazy river listening to Christmas music and enjoying the decorations, and other fun! On our way back home we stopped at the River Woods to see the lights, listen to a local band at the gazebo, and catch a horse drawn sleigh ride around the shops. It was a busy Saturday!

Before heading down to Vegas we also squeezed in time to see the lights at Temple Square!
