For dinner we headed over to Chic-fil-A with our friends for more freebies! It was Cow Appreciation Day, so if you show up dressed like a cow, you get a complete meal for free! Us, along with the rest of Provo, waited in the long line outside to claim our free meals!

7-11 Freebies!
Each year on July 11th 7-Eleven gives out free slurpees! Last year we went too late in the day and they were all out, so this year Gavin and I made sure to head over earlier. Gavin wanted to ride his scooter, and thank goodness it wasn't too hot of a day so I was actually able to enjoy the walk over.
After we finished our Slurpees we went over to the library to play for a little bit on the kids' touch screen computers. In the background is the castle corner where Gavin loves to go for story time. You can't see it, but there's a small secret entrance off to the right for the kids! And while Gavin's at story time, I get 20 minutes to sit outside reading, updating the blog,or just relaxing for a bit!

Janea's Mission
The same week that my parents came to visit with Elaina and Erin, was also the same week that Janea entered the MTC. She's now serving in the St. Louis, Missouri Mission! So it was an extra treat to be able to have a visit from the Edgel's as well. Sunday night (after Gavin was supposed to be asleep), Janea, Mark, and Patti arrived. Shortly after, we heard tip-toes and some giggles behind the hall door, and found Gavin wide awake in the hall anxious to give hugs. Needless to say it was a while before Gavin actually ended up back in bed Sunday night! Monday we spent the morning with Edgel's before Gavin and I headed up to meet more family in Heber, and drove back down to Provo with Jared Wednesday morning to go out for brunch with Edgel's and drop Janea off at the MTC. We're excited for her and know she's going to be a great missionary!

Visit from Grandparents and Cousins
At the end of June my parents arrived in Utah with my two nieces, Elaina and Erin. They were finishing up their RV road trip from Maryland, visiting church history sites all along the way. Gavin last saw Elaina and Erin a year and a half ago, when we were all in Mexico for Christmas, so he was beyond excited! Gavin and I met up with them in Salt Lake at "This is the Place Monument", then drove together to Heber where we camped for two days and celebrated Canada Day.
Nana,Grandpa Ducky, and the three big cousins
Grandpa Ducky got to camp with the kids while my
mom, Jared and I opted to 'camp' in the comfort of the RV.
These three had a blast playing at the park, riding
scooters, swimming, and just spending lots of time together!
Roasting hot dogs and s'mores on Canada Day!
Then staying up late to set of fire works!
On July 3rd we woke up bright and early to go to the Balloon Fest a few blocks away. Unfortunately the weather wasn't cooperating, so only a few of the hot air balloons were able to take off. But it was fun eating fruit and doughnuts for breakfast and walking around seeing all the different balloons being inflated. Since it was so early, Jared came with us and stayed until he had to head off to work.
After Balloon Fest and a stop at the park, we decided to head over to the Walk of Freedom at SCERA Park in Orem. I've heard about this before, but we've never gone. It was a bit boring for Gavin, so we didn't do many of the booths, but each kid got a to choose a name tag with info of an actual person that immigrated to the US. They got a passport, and had to pass off different things at each booth, until finally becoming a US citizen. Gavin got to be Albert Einstein.

The 4th of July was another busy day with the Provo Parade, picnic lunch back at the RV, ice cream cones with Grandpa Ducky, playing at the park, swimming at the Provo Rec Center, and a nap for everyone before heading out to watch the fireworks at Stadium of Fire!
Gavin had a blast with his two cousins, and is already asking when they're coming back for another visit. He loved having them over to his place for a sleep over, going on a tour of BYU campus, reading books, and just hanging out with Elaina and Erin!
