Winter Update

Winter this year has been a strange one. The only times it really snowed in December were when we were down in Mexico for Christmas. Although we returned home to snow, we headed down to Vegas two days later for New Years, and have seen hardly any snow since. A few days we've woken up to a slight blanket of snow, only for it to melt before we can even get outside to enjoy it. Even though Gavin's felt bummed about the lack of snow this year, I won't lie - it's been pretty nice! Especially with Jared driving up to Heber for work, I've been grateful he hasn't had to deal too much with bad winter roads. In fact it's been so warm here this winter, that we were able to go sailing on Utah Lake in the middle of February! But as luck would have it, as soon as we decided to bring our sailboat back up to Utah (we've been storing it down in Vegas for the winter), we came home to winter weather at the beginning of March.

Despite lucking out on the lack of snow this year, we have definitely had our fill of illnesses this winter. January we were all sick for basically the whole month with colds, sinus infections, and ear infections. It was a rough month! In February we celebrated my birthday and Valentine's Day, and enjoyed a quick visit from my parents. At the end of February we also took a weekend trip down to Vegas to visit family and bring our sailboat back up to Provo. And somehow six months flew by and our little Liam turned half a year old! At the beginning of March Gavin was ecstatic to have snow, even if it did only last for a day!

Although he was home sick from preschool,
Gavin was sure proud of the picture of our family he drew
