First bath at the hospital
Gavin meeting his baby brother
Little Liam
Two days old at the hospital
Jared's boss gave us the idea to have Liam and Gavin exchange gifts, to help Gavin feel involved and not left out when we brought Liam home. Gavin chose a stuffed caterpillar for Liam, and Liam gave Gavin some Jake and the Neverland Pirates figurines (Gavin's favorite show).
Liam has already made three trips up to Heber to visit Daddy during his lunch break and to introduce him to Daddy's coworkers. This time we met up at Deer Creek Reservoir for a picnic lunch together.
And here are just more cute pictures of Liam!
Gavin is great at putting the soother back in Liam's mouth, and will often give him kisses on his head, but there haven't been too many moments like this where Gavin snuggles with his little brother. But he sure is proud to be a Big Brother and likes to remind people to wash their hands before touching Liam so he doesn't get sick and being Mommy's helper. One morning when Liam was about two weeks old, I was in the middle of a diaper change when (like many times before) he started peeing EVERYWHERE. While trying to get him covered, he then proceeded to poop everywhere (also not uncommon), and pee again. Gavin came running out with Daddy's bath towel and threw it right on top of Liam during the middle of all this. Thanks bud!
Liam just barely started smiling, and I've tried to capture it on camera
This baby loves his belly!
Liam now weighs 9lbs 4oz, and is generally a pretty content little baby. He's still nursing pretty frequently (about every two hours) so hasn't yet slept through the night. But we rarely have to swaddle him, and he falls back asleep fairly quickly after nursing, which means I can get back to sleep quickly too. Like Gavin, he often likes to be left alone, lying on the couch or somewhere where he can just look around and see things. Unlike Gavin, he seems to like car rides, which usually put him to sleep. We love having this little guy in our family, and discovering his own unique personality!
