Christmas 2012 - Part One

Back in October my parents moved into their new home in Mexico, just in time to get the place ready for family to come visit for Christmas!  David and Isaiah weren't able to make it down, and they were definitely missed, but everyone else and their families made it down and we loved the time together!

Before heading down to Mexico, we took a trip to Vegas for an early Christmas with the Edgel's.  We spent time visiting family, going to Opportunity Village, flying airplanes at the dry lake bed, and opening presents.

 

Over the past year one of Jared's newest hobbies has become flying RC airplanes.  He started out with a small motorized airplane, and thanks to his Uncle Steve, he's now also acquired two large non-powered flight planes that he uses to ridge soar up at Point of the Mountain.  Jared has been so excited to get his dad an RC airplane, and gave him one similar to his own this year for Christmas.  We spent one morning down at a dry lake bed where Jared, his dad, and uncle flew their airplanes while me, Patti, and Gavin watched and visited.  Jared's been trying to get me to fly his airplane, so I finally gave it a try and actually did fairly well... so long as I didn't have to try and land it!

 Gavin absolutely loved his super hero cape and mask, and was even more ecstatic about his Buzz Lightyear flashlight.   He also got some new clothes, trucks, markers & paints, and I'm sure more that I can't remember right now!  I'm excited for our next camping trip to use my new mummy sleeping bag, and Jared is of course loving his RC car!
