- Canada Day & 4th of July: These were both spent in Utah. Stadium of fire was on the 1st, balloon festival was on the 3rd, and Mark and Patti arrived on the 4th and we celebrated with fireworks in Heber Valley.

Ready for our own fireworks show
- Ward Campout: Fun overnight campout just 20 minutes from our house. I love how close we are to such beautiful scenery. Mark and Patti were in town (again), so they stayed at our place and hung out at the camp in the evening then came up the next day for some fun. It's a cool place with a mini lake, ropes course, and other fun stuff.
- Back yard fun! We love having a backyard - sprinklers, water balloon fights, croquet, picnics, and bubbles.
- Gavin lost tooth #2 and #3. Unfortunately there's no picture of tooth three. Who knew you could swallow a loose tooth in your apple sauce!
- Jared's office did surveying work for the new Heber Aquatic center, so we were giving annual passes! It's pretty tiny compared to the Provo Rec Center, but it's close and there's water, so of course the boys love it.
- Over the summer Gavin participated in a YMCA day camp, as well as a robotics day camp through UVU's Wasatch Campus. Gavin helped earn money for these by collecting and recycling cans all summer long. Liam became quite the helper also.
- Fun times with family. In addition to my parents coming this past summer, we had plenty of visits from Grandma and Grandpa.
- Bike rides, duck ponds, and parks. Liam was so proud of himself when he finally figured out how to pedal and could (semi) keep up with Gavin.
- This kid is determined, and he loves to climb - on anything. Sometimes his favorite game is to climb up me while I'm sitting on the ground until he's basically sitting on my head.
- From all the reading that Gavin did over the summer, he earned free tickets to a Salt Lake Bee's Baseball game. We only lasted till the 5th inning, but fun was still had by all.
- The day before Gavin started school was the 2017 solar eclipse. We really debated about driving up to Idaho to be in the path of totality, and looking back on it I really wish we had. But it was still cool to see so much of the sun covered. Jared built a big "tent" type thing and created our own giant pinhole camera in the backyard, and we borrowed some eclipse glasses from a friend since we dropped the ball and didn't buy any of our own before they completely sold out.
Gavin's back to school orientation was the same day as the eclipse, so that evening we got to go meet Gavin's new teachers for 2nd grade and get excited for school to start the next day.

So many fun summer adventures for all of you. How did you ever manage to finish the bassement at the same time?
