August Whirlwind

July came to a close and I feel as though a tornado came through and blew us straight to the end of August without warning. Seriously, LIFE HAS BEEN CRAZY the past month! At the end of July we purchased a new car out of state, so Jared flew down to Texas and spent a Friday and Saturday driving our new 2007 Toyota Highlander Hybrid back to Provo. While still on the road, via texts and phone calls, Jared and I decided to move to Heber.  Although we had looked at options throughout the summer, we finally decided to move forward with renting a place close to Gavin's school.

And so began the mad rush of packing up all our belongings we've collected over the past five and a half years, and by the next weekend we were loading up the moving truck.  After moving all our stuff I still cannot figure out how it all fit in our small condo in Provo.  With moving also came the work of deep cleaning and fixing up our home in Provo to get it ready for renters. We created an LLC, set up our business bank account, applied for a rental dwelling licence, etc. etc. etc. Thank goodness for awesome friends and family, we could not have done it without them!  Alex and Lani helped spend hours deep cleaning our place and watching kids, and Patti came up the end of August to help with painting, and of course playing with grandkids and cooking! Jared also tore up the carpet in the hall and installed laminate wood flooring which looks awesome! Although we officially moved to Heber on August 8th, I feel like I was living most days in Provo with how often we were down there getting things done. But finally on August 24th our new tenants moved in, and we were able to relax - JINX! Really that just meant we were now able to start unpacking and moving into our new place. (which is still far from done, but we're slowly making progress).

And just to add to the madness, Jared's health was less than stellar as he had the pleasure of having both an upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy, plus his iritis decided to return - triggered from increased stress. And for some crazy reason I thought the month of August would be a good time for me to start weaning Liam! But we've survived, life's good, and this weekend is a long weekend so maybe we'll have some time to relax - or perhaps we'll go on a camping trip instead?! Crazy? Perhaps!

But here's what summer looked like before the tornado struck!
